Tips for Staying Motivated in Business.

Being an entrepreneur requires self-determination. It is a new journey for many people and can be confusing and challenging at times.

How do you find the motivation to go on when you may be feeling discouraged or uninspired to work on your business? Below are some tips to encourage you to stay on the path to success.

1. Remember your ‘Why.’

Why are you in business? Did you start this business journey to earn income?

Is your business a part of your retirement plan?

Do you want to leave a legacy for others?

Focusing on why you are doing this will motivate you to continue to get the answers you need to move forward.

2. Dedicate 30 minutes each day to business development activities.

This can be as simple as reading an article on your industry, researching your competitors’ websites, or creating a dream list of potential customers. Write down the information you learn to track your progress. Taking 30 minutes to do an activity (even the ones you do not like) will give you a sense of accomplishment and keep your momentum going.

3. Talk to a Business Advisor or Mentor

A business advisor can ask you the right questions that help you think through some of the challenges you may be facing regarding your business and provide solutions to keep you motivated. Advisors or mentors are experts in supporting entrepreneurs to get the information they need to stay on track. The BBEP offers Business Advising services to our members for free.
